Once your recordings are transcribed, Gaston's search engine goes far beyond a browser's "find on page": it searches your entire library at once, understands boolean operators, and can even find sentences that match what you meant, not just what you typed.
Log in and open Search from the sidebar. It searches across every file you've transcribed, not just the one you currently have open.
Type a word or phrase to match it exactly. Wrap a phrase in quotes for an exact match, or
combine terms with AND, OR
and NOT to narrow results, and use a
wildcard* to match variations of a word.
Semantic search looks for sentences that match the meaning of your query, even when the exact words are different, or the sentence is in another language. It needs a bit of context to work well, so search with a short phrase or a full sentence rather than a single word.
Narrow results by source or language, then click any result to jump straight to that exact moment in the recording, no scrubbing through the timeline required.
